By following this checklist you'll maximize your protection from being unfairly charged for pre-existing damages and ensure a safe and pleasant rental experience.
Make sure to review rental documents:
Rental agreement
Insurance policy
Contact information in case of emergency
Inspect exterior and note existing damages:
Scratches, dents, rust etc.
Cracks or chips on windshield or windows
Check tires and wheels for any signs of damage
Inspect interior of the car:
Check that the interior is clean and has no odors
Test car controls, such as air conditioning, heating, radio and GPS
Ensure that dashboard does not show any warning signs
Document current car condition:
